A Living History

Villa Veneziano was built in 1762 for a Venetian merchant family whose descendants occupied it until the mid-20th century. The restoration, completed over five painstaking years, has preserved the original architectural features—frescoed ceilings, terrazzo floors, Venetian plasterwork—while introducing every modern comfort with remarkable discretion.

Each of the six suites is unique, furnished with period antiques and contemporary art, and offering views over the terracotta rooftops of the Old Town or into the secret courtyard garden below. The effect is of staying not in a hotel, but in a private palazzo—which, in essence, you are.

The Art of the Particular

With just six suites, Villa Veneziano offers a level of personal attention impossible in larger establishments. The staff, drawn from old Corfu families, possess an intimate knowledge of the island and an instinct for hospitality that makes every request seem anticipated before it's voiced.

Breakfast is served in the courtyard garden, lunches can be arranged on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Old Fortress, and the wine cellar offers private tastings of rare Greek vintages. But perhaps the greatest luxury is simply the location—steps from the finest restaurants, churches, and cultural sites, yet utterly secluded behind ancient walls.

Staying here is not accommodation—it is inhabitation. For a few precious days, you become part of Corfu's story.
